A two-vehicle, head-on collision killed one driver and seriously injured another Monday four miles south of Sunray, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety news release issued Tuesday.

At 5:50 p.m., Department of Public Safety troopers were called to the accident, which occurred on a curve of Farm-to-Market Road 119.

Nicklas Lee, 19, of Dumas, was driving south in a 2015 Chevrolet pickup when he crossed over into the opposite lane and collided with a 2002 Chevrolet pickup driven by Mike Hobson, 51, of Sunray, troopers said.

Lee was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.

Hobson was airlifted to an Amarillo hospital with critical injuries but was in stable condition as of 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Road conditions were dry at the time of the accident.
