Amarillo Assault Defense Attorney Offers Free Consultations: Borger Police Arrest Shooting Suspect Jeremy Nunley After Short Manhunt

Posted on April 21, 2017 by Jesse Quackenbush, Attorney

Authorities have arrested an 18-year-old male believed to have shot another person in the leg with a high-powered rifle and later evading officers Thursday afternoon.

The Borger Police Department says officers first responded to the 700 block of Allred for the reporting shooting around 2:45 p.m. An unidentified male was found with a gunshot wound that could have been caused by a hunting rifle, police said.

The victim was airlifted to an Amarillo hospital.

Officers later found the suspect in the shooting, Jeremy Nunley, northwest of town. His abandoned vehicle and several firearms were also recovered.

Captain Brandon Strope said Nunley reportedly assaulted a female during the incident.

The Hutchinson County Sheriff’s office and BPD K-9 units assisted with the search for Nunley.

He was booked into the Hutchinson County jail on multiple charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault causing bodily injury to a family member.
