The Dallas Morning News reports “dozens of patients have suffered vision loss” after undergoing cataract surgery at Key-Whitman Surgery Center this year, according to Dr. Jeffrey Whitman, the president and chief surgeon of Key-Whitman Eye Center. Whitman “said the injuries have been traced to a steroid antibiotic injection from Guardian Pharmacy Services, a Dallas compounding pharmacy,” and that the center notified the Food and Drug Administration. Jack Munn, the owner of Guardian Pharmacy Services, said the compound in question is being evaluated.
