On Wednesday, a Hutchinson County Grand Jury indicted Matthew James Baker, 34, of Borger, for the offense of Murder.

The charge is in connection with the March 3, 2017 death of Blake Mathew Thorvaldsen. Baker was also indicted for two counts of Endangering a Child, allegedly happening on the same day.

The Murder charge is a first degree felony carrying a punishment range of five to 99 years or life in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division.

The two counts of Endangering a Child are state jail felonies where Baker faces up to two years in the State Jail Facility.

Baker is currently being held in the Hutchinson County Jail $1 million bond for the murder charge.

The District Judge set bail at $50,000 for each charge of Endangering a Child.

The Borger Police Department investigated this case.
