According to the Food and Drug Administration, Advanced Fresh Concepts Franchise Corp. (AFC) is recalling its Edamame or Soybeans.
The FDA said it has the potential to be contaminated with Listera monocytogenes and was discovered during random testing under AFC’s Quality Assurance Program.
The recall is for the product dated between January 3, 2017 and March 17, 2017 with the code UPC 0-23012-00261-9.
According to the FDA, AFC has notified all retailers of the recall so it shouldn’t be available for purchase.
The packages were sold under refrigeration is 8.0 oz packages with the “Edamame – Soybeans in Pods” labeling.
If you are concerned about whether the product you purchased is subject to this recall, the FDA said to check with the store of purchase. If the product you purchased is subject to the recall, according to the FDA, you should return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.
