Posted on July 19, 2017 by Jesse Quackenbush, Attorney

AMARILLO – A Florida woman is in critical condition after swerving to avoid a Potter County front end loader this afternoon.

According to DPS troopers, the woman was driving south on RM 1061 approaching the intersection of RM 2381.

Officials say a front end loader was driving north on RM 1061 in front of a truck tractor semi-truck and dump truck.

Officers tell us the front end loader attempted to turn onto RM 2381 and pulled into the path of the woman.

According to officials, the driver of the front end loader was attempting to clear traffic behind him before turning left onto RM 2381 and veered across the center stripe into the path of the woman.

Troopers say the woman over-corrected to try and avoid the front end loader, lost control of her vehicle, and crashed into the semi-truck.

The woman was airlifted to the hospital where she is in critical but stable condition.

No one else was injured in the crash.
