Amarillo Accidental Death: 1 Killed And 2 Injured In Carson County Accident On I-40

Amarillo, TX — Texas Department of Safety Troopers responded to the scene of a fatal accident that occurred on I-40 on Saturday, June 20 around 9:45 a.m, AGN TV reports.

A Saturn Vue driven by Jeremy Ogorman, 23, of Amarillo was traveling eastbound when he became distracted and veered into the center median, according to the DPS, Amarillo Globe News reports. The driver over-corrected back into the eastbound direction and again over-corrected into the westbound direction, striking  a westbound tractor trailer.

The driver of the tractor trailer, James David Brome, 72, of New Braunfels, was killed in the accident. The passenger of the tractor trailer, Edwin Dwight Bailey, 25, of Desert Hot Springs, California, Mr. Ogorman were transported to local Amarillo hospitals, Northwest Texas Hospital and Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital; their injuries are not considered life threatening.

The fatal accident is still under investigation.
