The Texas Department of Public Safety warns motorists to avoid I-40 near Carson County, as a multiple-vehicle accident has caused emergency responders to close down both westbound and eastbound portions of the interstate.
Just before 9 p.m. Wednesday evening, DPS began working an accident involving a semi-tractor trailer and multiple vehicles near mile marker 96 near Conway.
As of 9:35 p.m., DPS has confirmed one fatality.
Crews from Carson County and Armstrong County are being called in to assist.
DPS reports at this time, a hazmat crew has been called to the scene.
